Phenolic Plastic

Phenolic boomerangs are manufactured in laminated sheets with an inner layer of either fabric or paper. This produces a durable material, but it can break. Typical thickness is 2.5mm or 3.0mm.

Makers use phenolics for contest as well as sport boomerangs. Thin, flat boomerangs tend to have excellent out range and wind handling properties.

When carved using power tools, caution is suggested. Proper breathing masks and eye protection is advised.
